Musk accuses Zelenskyy of pushing ‘forever war’ with Russia
“This is evil,” the tech billionaire said, mounting a fresh attack on the Ukrainian leader.
Elon Musk took a fresh shot at Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, accusing the embattled Ukrainian president of wanting a “forever war” with Russia.
Musk, a close adviser of President Donald Trump who leads his efforts to pare down the federal government, often weighs in on U.S. foreign policy and European politics via his social media platform, X.
The tech mogul wrote on X that Zelenskyy “wants a forever war, a never-ending graft meat grinder.”
“This is evil,” he added.
In a separate post, he said Zelenskyy had a choice to “seek peace” with Moscow but was opting for bloodshed.
“This is cruel and inhumane,” Musk said.
In the early days of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Musk was hailed as one of Ukraine’s most important allies after donating thousands of Starlink satellite internet system terminals to replace communications services destroyed by Moscow’s forces.
But that changed after he began spreading what Kyiv said was pro-Russian propaganda. He has since condemned the provision of American aid to Ukraine “with no accountability and no end game” and has reserved his sharpest criticism for Zelenskyy, scoffing at the Ukrainian president’s calls for more aid and mocking his insistence that Kyiv cannot be forced to the negotiating table.
Musk’s latest posts follow last week’s Oval Office meeting between Trump, Zelenskyy and Vice President JD Vance which saw the Ukrainian leader booted from the White House and raised fears that the U.S. could withdraw support entirely for Kyiv.
